Download means you are getting files or folders from our server to use on your system at home, like the audio files library. First, install the FTP Client, then using the hostname, username and password provided, connect to the Music Tech server. Once you are successfully connected, you can download files and folders by dragging them from our server (the remote site) to your computer (the local site), or upload assignments from your computer to our server. Easy! Note: No matter how fast your download speed (for example, Comcast has 5Mb, 10Mb and 16Mb per second packages), your upload speed will be much, much slower. It's not our server (although it's pretty slow, I must admit :-). If you upload/download at Foothill it will be much faster, as we have a dedicated T3 line that is screaming fast. PROBLEMS? DON'T GET IT? Log in to the "FTP Issues" discussion group in the "Discussion and Private Messages" area and post a question/contribute a solution! Send me a private message! Want Free Audio and Video Clips? Get them from us! They take a while to download, but it's a large library and very valuable. Free to our students! audioclips host: foothillmusictech.com, username:audioclips, password:audio videoclips host: foothillmusictech.com, username:video, password:video |
